Christmas in Texas

Well, we had a wonderful 3 weeks spent with family and good friends and we got so many great pictures and great memories that it is hard to pick my favorites to share, but I will give it a shot, hopefully a brief one :)
The first part of the trip we stayed with my parents at their new beautiful home in Bastrop. It was our first time to see their house as their own and it was picturesque. They have 6+ acres of piney woods and Jonathan LOVED it. He is definitely an outside boy, towards the end of our stay there he would race to the door any chance he could to see if someone was willing to take him outside! Uncle Seth and Aunt Amanda were able to come down for a few days and spend time with everyone as well so that was a treat to all be together for Christmas.

The second leg of our trip was spent in Baytown with James' side of the family. We left Bastrop Christmas morning and made it to both sides of his extended family's Christmas that day so it was fun to see all of James' grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins since they all live within a small distance from one another. The week in Baytown was a lot of fun mostly because we got to watch the cousins play together all week. Jonathan and Paige loved playing with one another, they match each other pretty well, both full of lots of energy. We even got to take them into Houston to the Children's Museum which is fun for all, even us adults, ha!

It was a very blessed holiday this year getting to watch Jonathan enjoy everything and getting to spend quality time with all of our family. It was bitter sweet leaving because we miss them so much, but we were ready to be back in our own home and beds at the same time. Hope you all had as blessed a Christmas as we did and Happy 2011!

Kissing cousins! Paige was constantly trying to give Jonathan hugs and kisses (so cute!) and eventually he returned them, ha!

Check out the shirt Uncle Brent was wearing, and I wonder why they were so upset!

And Jonathan started talking a lot on this trip, I think hearing Paige talk helped a lot! Here in this picture he is saying "cheese"! He also says bath, dog, and shoes sometimes, so much fun to hear his sweet voice figuring out words, yay!

And we got to have dinner with our dear friends Jeff and Lauren. It was a fun evening, but we missed you Erin, Gregg, and kids, sorry ya'll were sick.
